An energy medicine practitioner for 15 years, Judith has guided hundreds of clients to health, balance and vitality.  Blending multiple energy healing modalities with essential oils, she serves as a highly intuitive guide for the soul.  Reacquainting each individual with their own inner wisdom is a cornerstone of her transformational work.
When Judith became a doTERRA wellness advocate in 2016, and began incorporating plant medicine into her practice, she discovered a profound connection to the plant kingdom.  In awe, she observed the ways in which the magnificence of each plant seemed to speak so freely, easily and lovingly to every client, offering just what their body, mind and soul needed.
She was immediately inspired to teach others how they, too, can connect to the spirits – and wisdom – of the plants.  And, so began Plant Speak, a series of online courses for the doTERRA community. A healer, teacher, mentor, community volunteer and mother, Judith brings her heart and relentless passion for humanity to each Plant Speak course.
Judith says…”What I've learned working closely with the human spirit is that healing into one's true self is the best way to bring peace and healing to the individual, and to the world at large. The plant wisdom contained in every drop of essential oil truly offers the most loving and profound support on the path to the self...if we listen. It is through the Plant Speak online course series that I hope to bring this sacred skill of deep listening to many.”

doTERRA, means, "gift of the earth."
Copaiba essential oil is crafted of four species of Copaiba trees sustainably sourced from Brasil. Here is a link to an article about this amazing oil!

Since the sixteenth century, Copaiba essential oil has been utilized in traditional health practices by the peoples of north and northeastern Brazil. Copaiba oil has also been widely used in cosmetic products like soaps, creams, and lotions. This essential oil’s benefits, however, reach far beyond the surface. Dr. David K. Hill D.C., Founding Executive, Chief Medical Officer, and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee at doTERRA talks about the science behind this unique oil. He specifically discusses the endocannabinoid system and how Copaiba oil interacts with this important system of the body. Unlike other plants of its kind, the oil derived from the copaiba tree does not contain psychoactive cannabinoids. The main component caryophyllene may be neuroprotective and have cardiovascular and immune benefits without any negative or unwanted effects on the rest of the body. Copaiba essential oil has other numerous benefits as well, including sustaining a proper immune response, providing liver support, possessing antioxidant properties, and supporting proper respiratory function.

"I have benefitted immensely from my 22+ years of Dayan Qigong practice and teaching qigong has brought me tremendous joy and friendship! When I came to Wen Wu School in 1994, I had a severe case of shingles which affected my short-term memory and I suffered from toxicity caused by chemical exposure from materials used in buildings. I had no energy, sleeping 16 hours a day. Dayan qigong helped me regain my vitality and I began my qigong practice and teaching in earnest! Regular use of essential oils have restored mental clarity and is a wonderful compliment to qigong!"

Essential Wellness Symposium: Deepen into Plant Spirit Medicine ~
Hotel Monaco, Portland, Oregon
January 10th 10:00 am to 5:00pm

The day will be an exploration of deepening into our daily practice of energetic and cellular health. In all of our daily practices: energetic, spiritual, emotional, and physical, we nurture ourselves and the world around us. We will discuss and uncover why we believe essential oils to be very safe in our daily practices of self care, and how to utilize them to support our adrenals, energetics, and overall cellular health. The afternoon will be experiential and participatory as we learn how to incorporate simple practices in meditation and qi movement and how essential oils work synergistically to complement such practices. Our morning will consist of two lectures by Naturopathic physicians: Dr. Louise Rose ND will present her Lecture "Concerns and Considerations of Essential Oil Safety", previously presented only for Certified Medical Education, followed by Dr. Jennifer Tufenkian N.D., presenting on "Adrenals and Essential Oil Therapetics".

In our afternoon session, we are proud to present Mica Carew N.D., LAc, and Kathryn Langstaff, Essential Qi.

Dr. Mica Carew has been a licensed naturopath and acupuncturist since 2000. Her practice weaves together her traditional Native American upbringing with her formal training in Chinese medicine. She has created a meditation called the "Living Grace Meditation" that reflects the same alchemy of ancient traditions that she utilizes in her practice. She will share with us how to utilize this meditation to practice plant spirit medicine with the essential oils.

Kathryn Langstaff, Co-Founder of the Wen Wu School Portland, is a certified Qi Gong Instructor specializing in subtle energy healing. She will teach and explore with us the intersections between Qi Gong, the movements of Qi, and essential oil frequencies.

The Heart in Classical Chinese Medicine and Cosmology

HEINER FRUEHAUF
Heiner Fruehauf was born into a German family of medical doctors specializing in natural healing modalities such as homeopathy, herbalism, and hydrotherapy. His great grandfather studied with Sebastian Kneipp, one of the fathers of the European nature cure’s movement. Prof. Fruehauf studied sinology, philosophy, and comparative literature at Tübingen University, Fudan University (Shanghai), Hamburg University, Waseda University (Tokyo), and the University of Chicago, where he earned a doctoral degree from the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations in 1990.

After encountering a serious health crisis, he became interested in supplementing his theoretical training in the philosophy and cosmology of Chinese medicine with the study of its clinical applications. While completing two years of post-doctoral training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he was mentored by Deng Zhongjia, one of China’s primary expert in the fields of formula studies and the classical foundations of Chinese medicine. In addition, he sought out the classical roots of Chinese medicine outside the institutionalized TCM setting: Daoist medicine and Jinjing Qigong with Wang Qingyu; Shanghan lun pulse diagnosis with Zeng Rongxiu; Sichuan Daoism with Wang Chunwu; and traditional Sichuan folk art and music with Wang Huade. Since 1992, he has published widely on both the theoretical and clinical aspects of Chinese medicine.

Presently, he serves as Founding Professor of the School of Classical Chinese Medicine at National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, where, until recently he served as dean, and has been teaching since 1992. His scholarly endeavors include the direction of an ongoing research project on the archaic symbolism of Chinese medicine terminology, including an in-depth analysis of the acupuncture point names. As a practitioner in private practice, he focuses on the complementary treatment of difficult and recalcitrant diseases, including cancer, heart disease, and chronic digestive disorders. In addition, Prof. Fruehauf is the director of the Heron Institute, a non-profit institution for the research and preservation of traditional life science. In this capacity, he has been leading an almost annual study tour focusing on Qigong and other aspects of Classical Chinese Medicine into the sacred mountains of Southwest China for over ten years.

The Heart and Chinese 5-Element Emotional Healing

Tamara Staudt
“Most illness in our western culture is indeed illness of the Heart and we are looking for answers – hoping to counter this distress of disconnection…  Wang Fengyi offers a solution, cutting straight to the chase and telling us unequivocally, if we are to live lives that honor our magnificence and the fullness of our human potential it is our Heart that needs rectifying.  In this context, we refer to the larger Heart spoken of in Wisdom teaching throughout time—that which is an organ of inner alignment, complete ability and connection.  This Heart allows us to be guided by and aligned with our divinity while having a human experience.”

– Tamara Staudt, Preface to Twelve Characters: A Transmission of Wang Fengyi’s Teachings, translated by Sabine Wilms 2014

New Gesture for the Heart

Spacial Dynamics® is the study and enhancement of the relationship between the human being and space through various movement techniques and activities. These hands-on techniques work with moving into an ideal, dynamic posture that promotes healthy movements and helps to avoid and alleviate pain, injuries, and undue wear and tear on the body.

The Energy of Sound: Let Music Guide You
Our universe is flowing all around and through us. We can either be pummeled by its waves or learn to surf them. We can use the harmonies and disharmonies of life to resist or to align with the flow. Aware or not, we are feeling everything. Kendra, a musical seamstress and owner of an experiential music school, Swaha Studios, shows us how we can allow music to guide us in our dance with peace of mind.

KENDRA CARPENTER

Kendra Carpenter was pulled to the piano at age three, friends-for-life with it by age four. I was drawn to the cello at age twelve, completely in love with it by age fourteen. Soon after I was expanded and enlightened by University of Denver professor Richard Slavich for several years, then blessed with a full scholarship to the University of Colorado in Boulder where I was further inspired and instructed by Dr. Judith Glyde.

After graduating with degrees in Music Performance and Environmental Design, I spent the next decade working and teaching and performing throughout the Rocky Mountains of Colorado… everything from summer festivals to weddings, elementary schools to patient rooms in hospitals, bars to stages, and backyards to yoga centers.

In addition to being totally into that state of bliss that often comes from making music, I also love, and I mean love, snowboarding, kayaking, traveling, raw food, yoga, backpacking adventures, learning something new, dancing and… of course, really yummy (raw) desserts!

I’ve been honored and blessed with experiences like: being a guest artist with the Sam Houston State University Ballet Company; performing with Yo Yo Ma, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and the Denver Young Artists Orchestra; offering seminars on leadership, lifestyle wellness and the healing vibrations of music; running a marathon and an ULTRA marathon; and traveling to perform in places like Japan, England, Ecuador, Germany and Austria.

"It’s the time of infinite possibilities, of desires bubbling over and manifesting themselves in our lives in ways we never thought possible.

No matter what has come in or out of our lives in the past few years, once in a while we are given the chance to have everything we’ve always wanted—we just have to make the choice now to not let it go.

Because certain chances only come around once in a blue moon."
