💧HEALING WITH DOTERRA ESSENTIAL OILS💧

Kathryn Sweas, RN, Life Force Catalyst
DoTerra Wellness Advocate
Introduction: I was introduced to Kathryn Sweas at a doterra educational event by Tatiana Tannenbaum. I learned quickly that Kathryn is a very skilled energy healer and nurse who has been on the forefront of health and healing for 40 years. I have loved meeting so many interesting and knowledgeable people in doTERRA who have deep insight and experience in healing trauma and helping the human spirit with dignity and respect.
"Overall, I truly do believe doTerra oils are part of the future of our health and healing in our healthcare system as it evolves even more and grounds new venues for education of consumers and professionals alike. The doTerra commitment in research and education of the community is unparalleled. The Pacific Northwest doTerra community is such a leader in on-going education at so many levels. I recently participated in the First National Nursing Essential Oil Conference, offering professional CEU training, that presented how oils are being used in nursing practice with different populations and different settings, in hospitals and community-based settings, including how to work collaboratively with other professionals like doctors bringing oils into treatment and care plans. Although not sponsored by doTerra, it was held live in Utah and also virtually for all of us that were not able to travel away from work schedules. It was highly beneficial, pertinent and inspirational. Some of you may know that doTerra is planning the development of a medical facility in Utah and the Pacific Northwest may be considered as a second location for a medical facility utilizing essential oils in time. I think that is really bespeaking our future in a most wonderful way. Talk about grace and the outcome of aligning with Nature and life force!"
What excites you most about doTERRA essential oils?
What excites me most about doTerra oils is what I call an “alive intelligence” in the molecules of these oils that always seem ready to do its job when used responsibly for so many areas of health and wellness reset and balancing with no known toxic side effects. For me as a health and healing advocate, this is so great. The adaptogenic and synergistic actions in the body-mind are tremendous! A little goes a long way.

How effective are essential oils for emotional well being in eldercare and what ways do you recommend using them to support mood?
I work with elders in their own homes, in foster care homes, and in assisted living facilities. I often find that elders respond so easily to the actions and benefits of the oils, much like children and animals, small amounts go a long way. Diffusing in bedrooms, kitchens or living areas is often the way to go for enlivening (Peppermint, Aromatouch or Rosemary). For harmonizing via hand and massage with a specific oil or blend, I recommend wild orange or balance. A diffusion of serenity, vetiver, frankincense, lavender, in any combination, is great for calming preparation for sleep at bedside and also placed with coconut oil at bottoms of feet with socks on. Here is a vimeo, " Meaningful Uses for the dōTERRA AromaTouch Hand Technique," from dōTERRA international filmed at a home for people with Alzheimer's and dementia in Georgia. Do you have insights and recommendations for how to incorporate doTERRA essential oils with your elderly patients?
For change of seasons with frail systems, and seasonal, environmental threats, runny nose, cough, or night sweats, I like to diffuse, On Guard, both for the elders and caregivers, in the common areas of living. I have requested family purchase a diffuser and run On Guard, along with a nice harmonizer or stabilizer oil like Balance or Birch for an elder. Diffusing 12 hours a day of these oils really cut down on occurrences! I recently shared On Guard with some caregivers at an assisted living and both of them immediately wanted a bottle for themselves, as it helped them actually become clear-headed & calm and they felt somehow fortified. I keep a bottle in my pocket all day, and use and share it accordingly. I have also often offered Breathe to both caregivers and Elders alike when there has been coughing and either sinus, chest discomfort or difficulty breathing. I use Fractionated coconut oil or refined coconut oil to dilute 1 drop of Breathe and massage on the back of the lungs or chest area. I take 4x4 gauze and add a drop of Breathe, then fold it over and keep it near for them sniff.

I absolutely love using both Cypress and Arborvitae with coconut oil to give lymphatic fluffing massage to lower limbs (calves and feet) to elders with Congestive Heart Failure (very common) who often have swelling and edema there. This is so important to help so that they do not get congested fluid build up that can lead to a cellulitis.
I also think the new Kids Collection would probably be SUPER for Elders. They can easily work with the oils in roller bottles and follow with the flashcards. Plus all the oils are in a base of coconut oil so go on very gently, and very easy for an Elder to use on themselves.

For cognitive enhancement and overall brain support, Frankincense is King, It is highly researched for its efficacy with the memory or focusing problems, and the anxieties and nervous agitation associated with them. It oxygenates the blood going to the brain and stimulates memory. It also has been proven to kill may unwanted pathogens, including bacteria and fungi, that can be acquired, breed and cause big problems in bodies that “don’t move much,” or absorb hydration or nutrition from the food well. (https://www.prohealth.com/library/frankincense-food-for-a-happy-brain-and-neurological-system-42759) In combination with Pink Pepper, one of the newer oils, or Turmeric and Magnolia, these 4 oils would be a great blend for diffusion or even in water (1-2 drops of each) for a calming, soothing, cognitive enhancer for neuronal health.
Pain, another bugaboo for the elderly population, can also be addressed by these wonderful oils. The Deep Blue Rub is really, a superior product that I have seen work for to support healthy knee function or decline in body functions, hip and back pain. In conjunction with other pain meds, Deep Blue Rub may be used for ongoing pain. Now that Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex comes in oral gel caps can be taken orally...along with Copaiba oral gel caps! Well, this is an incredible combo to help reduce discomfort, ache and pains. It is anti-inflammatory, helps reduce anxious feelings and the need for brain support that is often necessary for elders experiencing ongoing pain or just the aches of body's that have decreased mobility in general.

My own elderly mother has been using doterra for 4 years now. She calls me when she needs more Bone Nutrient Complex. She takes the Lifelong Vitality Pack and Terrazyme + pb assist when she remembers. OnGuard+ helped her stay healthy last winter after being hospitalized twice with a life threatening seasonal threats. I have diffused Breathe and Frankincense in her diffuser at night and will try adding some of the new oils Kathryn suggests! I cherish my mother and your recommendations for supporting our Elders with doTERRA essential oils! Thank you Kathryn!

💧OIL TIPS & BLENDS💧

Hi Beautiful Team!
Let’s talk about fat, fat cells, and the process of loosing weight physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Yarrow Pom is a potential facilitator for us in this process- but I would like to point out a few things to remember~Dr. Mica Carew, N.D., L.Ac.
1. Yarrow/Pom is helping to dissolve or deflate fat cells.
2. Fat cells store toxins: physical, mental, and emotional.
3. If your aim is to dissolve or deflate the fat cells please be ready to deal with the toxins on all levels: physical, mental, and emotional.
4. Emotions that haven’t been addressed fully lie right below the surface.
When there is an opportunity for the emotions to be released and let go the body mind and spirit will Take IT.
5. Yarrow/Pom helps to calm the nervous system.
When the nervous system is calm, the body mind and spirit will take the opportunity to deal with that underlying junk .
When people are in fight or flight they are Not able to even address that old stuff.
6. Start slow, and trust your experience. 💧One per day and see how you feel.
If you are not comfortable with what is surfacing or not in a place to process it then back down from your dose. Everyone is going to experience this beautiful warrior herb in different ways - only you will will know when is too much for you.

Gifting nature's grace, who comes to mind when you think of gifting? Who needs grace? How do you feel when you choose to give or when you receive grace from someone? Many people this time of year are in need of nature's grace. May you take time to pause and celebrate the gifts and abundance you experience this time of year, and in the stillness or pause, may you feel the gifts of nature, her abundance, her grace and her gifts!
